Innovation Philanthropy
The Innovation Philanthropy Initiative believes in the transformative power of creativity in the non-profit world. We hope to challenge traditional notions of giving and inspire donors and leaders become catalysts for innovation across all organizational levels.
Embracing Innovation Philanthropy cultivates an environment that ignites creativity and catalyzes positive change. This approach strategically invests time, resources, and talent through diverse means: financial donations, grant-making, volunteering, and partnerships. We champion unrestricted funding, trust-based methodologies, and calculated risk-taking to empower grantee-led solutions and nurture inclusive governance.
From Vision to Impact
Aiming to refine her personal giving strategy, Alice Jacobs conceived of the Innovation Philanthropy concept. Her vision evolved from individual philanthropy to spearheading a movement that strives to impact the non-profit sector.
Alice’s own Innovation Philanthropy Initiative is evident in projects like the Buffalo AKG Art Museum’s transformation, the ALL IN initiative for gender equity, and the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum’s Women Making History, a newly formed national network. These endeavors demonstrate how creativity and innovation can be powerful catalysts for progress, opening new frontiers and reshaping our world. Through the Innovation Philanthropy lens, you too can begin your own initiative – or simply add to your current efforts – to drive lasting, positive change.
